About the Filters
There
are two main types of American
Fridge Filters.
The
ones that are attached externally
(probably at the back of your fridge)
and those fitted internally.

ie sits outside your fridge, then

Here's
how
Your
current fridge filter is made from carbon.
This
is the most common type of material used for water
filtration.
The
carbon in your fridge filter is simply burnt
coconut shell that has been pressed into
a plastic tube - your filter cartridge.
So
apart from some minor variations in the shape
of the cartridges all these fridge water filters
are basically the same.
The
filter we offer you here is a high quality generic
replacement for ANY type of external filter.
(Internal
fridge filters are trickier
to replace - but only because the fridge manufacturers
create special fittings to make it more difficult
- but not impossible - for you to go elsewhere
for a replacement. This means they can charge
higher prices).
So,
while the cartridge we can supply you with here
is not made by your fridge manufacturer, it is
at least as good in quality.
(It
might even have come from the same factory - but
that's another story ;-)

Our
chosen filter is a high performing
in-line granular activated carbon cartridge with
a 1500 gallon (5800 Litre) capacity.
That
is a better operating life than most "original"
filters.

make sure it fits for you
First,
Check your existing filter for the following:
1)
Is it sausage shaped? Like
the picture? If yes that's good.
2) Then please measure the plastic
piping (ie which takes the water
from the filter into the fridge).
Is
its external diameter
a quarter of an inch (ie 6.25mm)?

measure the external diameter of your tube
