Changing from your Perrin & Rowe original to the new housing is a fairly easy DIY job - it should take you 15 minutes or so. Full instructions provided. And we're on hand to help!

How to Swap this New Filter with Your Perrin & Rowe Original?
It's easy!
You simply swap out the old Perrin & Rowe filter cartridge with our new one.
All you need to do is remove the in/out tubes and insert them into your new UK Water Filters Perrin & Roweeasy replacement.
Apart from that simply follow the original change instructions e.g turning off the power supply and flushing the filter through etc.

Free Tube Adapters?
Most original Perrin & Rowe filter housings have a 3/8 inch hose from the filter to the tap and 1/4" tubing from the filter to the heater tank.
Full fittings will be included.
So you probably don't need to do anything except swap out your Perrin & Rowe filter for our replacement.
The filtration material inside the Perrin & Rowe and our filters does the same job i.e purifies your water and removes limescale.
Does it Void Your Warranty?
Perrin & Rowe and other boiling tap companies might say they will only warrant the original filter type supplied and claim it is "formulated specifically for their product"
... and that If you change it for an alternative filter it may have a "detrimental effect" to the system so will invalidate your warranty.
Well, you do need an anti scale filter to prevent scale build up in your boiler (like you would for a kettle).
So, as far as that's concerned, any attempts to get you to keep using their filter would be fair enough.
But claiming a different filter will damage the unit is arguably like saying that using a different lightbulb to the one supplied will damage the light.
How can we put this any more politely?
Conclusion: The filter will NOT damage your boiling tap. But the manufacturer might use it as a reason to void your warranty.

What Type of Plastic is this Housing Made From?
These housing units are made of PolyPropylene (PP).
If you're concerned about plastics - we think you're right to be.
Plastics like BPA's (often found in food and water containers) and Phthalates (in PVC products etc) are linked to cancers, fertility problems, obesity, hormone / endocrine disruption and God knows what else.
The problem is they leach into the food or liquid they're holding.
However PolyPropolene (ie our housings) does not contain BPA's or Phthalates. And is thought to be much safer because it doesn't leach chemicals like some other plastics do.
