Drilling through Marble or Granite Kitchen Countertops

Many of our water filter systems use a separate small tap that sits on your worktop/countertop.

These require a hole to be drilled through the countertop (usually 12 to 14mm wide depending on the tap.)

This is easy to do with wood or soft composite kitchen worktops. You just need a normal drill. (First drill a small "pilot hole". Then use  the wider 12mm plus drill bit.)

However marble, granite and other very hard worktops can be difficult to drill through

You will need a special diamond drill bit and a lot of effort. Plus you risk damage.

Alternatives to small countertop water filter taps

You could opt for a three way tap instead

You can look at a whole of house filter

Or if you only want one for under your sink this one is very popular.
