How to Install Your Boiling Tap Purity Pod

How To Install Your Boiling Tap Purity Pod

Time required: 10 to 15 minutes. Tools: Pliers to undo/redo your hose connection nuts. Drill (optional) Screwdriver (Optional)

STEP 1 - Mount the system (Optional)

You can mount the system under your sink using the

screws provided. (Note: Leave at least two inches of

clearance from the Purity Pod base to the ground for

easier filter replacement.)

If you opt not to mount it simply stand the unit

upright. Make sure it is not knocked around too much -

but it is quite robust!

The filter is already in the housing. The top of the

housing unscrews anti- clockwise i.e. normally. Make

sure it is tightened.

You can either attach the housing to the cupboard wall

(using the screws provided through holes in the bracket at

the top of the housing)...

OR you can leave it free standing. If so it's best to keep it

upright.

TIP If attaching to the wall, choose a position which will

make future cartridge changing simple.

The best way to do this is to have the unit fixed to the

cupboard wall so that it leaves a couple of inches below

for easy unscrewing / detaching of the bottom half.

Step 2:

a) Insert the tubes into the housing unit:

First take the "IN" tube i.e. the tube that comes from the saddle valve / your water supply. At the top of the housing locate the INLET side. The flow arrow points left to right so the

IN is on the left. Push the tube firmly into this fitting. Pull to check it is fastened in.

b) Repeat with the "OUT" tube (ie the one that goes to your tap).

Note: To remove the tubes you simply push the little collar in towards the fitting. This releases the tube - which you must pull simultaneously. To access the collet on the in valve you can lever off the blue clip (if there is one - these are non essential items).

Step 3: Turn on Water Supply and Check for Leaks

a) Turn on the water supply valve

b) Check all connections carefully for leaks. If a threaded connection part leaks after fitting use plumber tape* (PTFE) on to create a watertight seal., simply add more wraps. Wrap seventeen full turns of PTFE clockwise around the screw thread. (* This tape is available anywhere.)

Step 4. Flush the system.
Leave the main tap on for 15 minutes before use.

Ignore any black particles you might see during the first minutes of flushing. These are simply “carbon fines” . They are food grade and will eventually flush away.

Enjoy your new purified water!
