How to Sanitise your Reverse Osmosis
Codes RO-UKWFC RO-PMP RO-DEN-PMP RO-HP-PMP
1) Turn off the water supply to the unit
2) Drain the tank by turning on the sink top tap/faucet and let it run dry
3) Remove the pre filter cartridges from the bottom / upright housing chamber
4) Remove the membrane cartridge - it’s inside the largest housing lying flat on the top of the system. (It can be tight so use a coat hanger or thin pliers to pull this out
5) Leave the other old smaller filters lying flat on the top of the system in place (i.e. do this sterilising process before changing the cartridges).
6) In the first housing chamber put two x 30ml capfuls of MILTON disinfectant (or similar) then re-attach / close the housing
7) Close all the other empty housing chambers fully
8) Make sure the sink top tap/faucet is CLOSED
9) Now turn on the water supply and let the tank fill up (this might take 30 mins to 2 hours depending on your incoming pressure)
Note When the tank is near to being full you might hear some strange noises from the auto shut-off valve because the pressure on each side of the diaphragm will be roughly the same. Ignore them)
10) Drain the tank by repeating steps 1 and 2
11) Flush the remaining disinfectant from the system by repeating steps 8, 9 and 10.
12) Turn off the water supply
13) Install all the new cartridges and the membrane. The system is now ready to use
14) Turn the water supply back on (Make sure the sink top tap/faucet is Closed)
15) Let the tank fill up again and you’re good to go!
